They are just raised, pink, itchy bumps that develop on the skin. They usually occur in response to an allergic reaction. Other causes are an infection, stress, or cold. Individual hives typically last for a few hours, with new hives appearing as older ones fade away. We all experienced hives at least once during our lifetime. Thus, let’s see how can we do better with soothing and natural remedies to get rid of hives.
1. Aloe vera gel
Aloe vera is such a magical plant. Apply aloe vera gel to your skin and enjoy the feeling of its instant soothing effect.
2. Castor oil
Castor oil is very effective as an anti-bacterial solution because it contains toxic chemicals that are beneficial for your skin. The oil, however, isn’t dangerous. Moreover, precaution is required. Don’t swallow it, and keep it away from the reach of children.
3. Drink water
Drink a lot of water and stay away from alcohol. I strongly suspect that alcohol is the indirect reason behind autoimmune urticaria.
4. Herbal tea
Herbal teas are your best solution to reduce the symptoms of hives. Any herb will work, but you need to commit to 3 cups per day. While all herbs work well, green tea, goldenseal, devil’s claw, and chamomile teas are the most effective at reducing allergies thanks to their antihistamine properties.
5. Oatmeal bath
If the hives have spread to a large area of the body, a warm bath is your best bet. An oatmeal bath can be particularly helpful in this regard. The bat is a particularly good idea if the hives are displaying on the legs and other areas of the lower body.
