Natural Remedies To Relieve Pink Eye Symptoms

Spending hours in front of the computer and TV, reading or driving at night affects our eyes. Not to mention about stress and poor nutrition because it’s the best explanation for pink eyes. To get rid of a pink eye and to reduce its redness there a few natural remedies that do wonders. Also, these remedies aren’t beneficial just to reduce eye’s redness. They are great for puffy eyes and for dark circles, too.

1. Cold water
Keep a compress with cold water on the eyelids for 10-15 minutes. Cold water shrinks the blood vessels and soothes swollen eyes.

2. Ice cubes
Another remedy for pink eyes is ice. Wrap two ice cubes in a towel and put them on your eyelids for five minutes.

3. Cucumbers
Cucumbers reduce eye’s redness and help to relieve the pain. You can use them in two ways: either you cut two slices of cucumber and put them on your eyes or prepare a cucumber juice and soak two cotton pads in this juice and apply it on your eyelids for 15 minutes.

4. Tea sachets
Don’t throw tea sachets after you’ve prepared green or black tea. Let them cool after you’ve used them then put the tea bags on your eyes and let them act for 5 minutes. Both green and black tea sooth swollen and irritated eyes, because they contain caffeine which helps blood vessels to contract.

5. Potatoes
Potatoes are rich in starch. It has anti-inflammatory effects helping to relieve the irritated eyes. All you have to do is to peel a potato, wash it and let it dry. Cut it in thin slices and apply it on your eyes for 15 minutes before bed.
